Setting Up Automatic Sync
Configure scheduled syncing to keep your data fresh without manual imports
Last updated: January 23, 2026
Keep your fulfillment data up to date automatically. 3PL Pulse can sync both your Shopify orders and 3PL provider data on a schedule.
What Gets Synced
Automatic sync handles two types of data:
| Sync Type | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Shopify Auto-Sync | Pulls new orders and fulfillment updates from Shopify |
| Provider Auto-Sync | Pulls shipment data from connected 3PL providers (API connections only) |
Both run independently on the schedule you choose.
Setting Up Auto-Sync
- Go to Settings from the main navigation
- Find the Shopify Auto-Sync or Provider Auto-Sync section
- Toggle the switch to enable
- Choose your sync frequency
Sync Frequency Options
How often you can sync depends on your plan:
| Plan | Available Frequencies |
|---|---|
| Scout | Every 4 hours |
| Radar | Every 4 hours, Hourly |
| Command Center | Every 4 hours, Hourly, Every 15 minutes |
Choose a frequency that matches your order volume:
- Every 4 hours: Good for lower volume stores or when near-real-time isn’t critical
- Hourly: Recommended for most stores with active fulfillment
- Every 15 minutes: Best for high-volume stores or tight SLA monitoring
How It Works
Once enabled:
- Runs automatically - No manual action needed after setup
- Background process - Syncs happen even when you’re not logged in
- Incremental updates - Only pulls new or changed data, not your entire history
- Independent schedules - Shopify and provider sync run separately
When to Use Manual Sync Instead
Auto-sync is great for ongoing monitoring, but you may still want manual syncs for:
- Initial setup - Import historical data before enabling auto-sync
- Immediate updates - When you need data right now, not at the next scheduled time
- Troubleshooting - To verify a specific sync works correctly
You can always run a manual sync from the Data Sync page even with auto-sync enabled.
Provider Auto-Sync Requirements
Provider auto-sync only works with API connections (like ShipBob). If you import data via CSV, you’ll need to upload files manually.
To set up API connections, see Configuring Your Providers.
Best Practices
Match Frequency to Volume
Higher volume stores benefit from more frequent syncs. If you’re processing hundreds of orders daily, hourly or 15-minute syncs help catch issues faster.
Enable Both Sync Types
For complete data, enable both Shopify and Provider auto-sync. This ensures your orders and fulfillment data stay matched.
Check Sync Status Regularly
Even with automation, periodically check your dashboard to ensure syncs are completing successfully. Look for the “Last synced” timestamp in the page footer.
Upgrading for Faster Sync
If you need more frequent syncing than your current plan allows, you can upgrade from the Settings page. Higher-tier plans unlock faster sync frequencies.
Next Steps
- Configure your providers to enable API connections
- View your dashboard to monitor performance
- Troubleshoot sync issues if syncs aren’t working
